Built for uni students splitting a rented house and fresh grads figuring out their first apartment โ gengrumah splits rent and utilities by who's actually home, keeps chores from slipping, and gives every housemate one shared place instead of five different group chats.
My girlfriend Vivian was the one stuck calculating everyone's share of the electricity, water, and rent every month โ by hand. Factoring in who was away for the weekend, who worked from home, who basically lived at their partner's place.
It was slow, it started arguments, and after enough months of it she just wanted a tool that would do the maths fairly so nobody had to be the bad guy.
So we built gengrumah โ it tracks who's actually home and splits every bill accordingly. No spreadsheets, no guessing, no group chat interrogations. Turns out it's not just a Vivian problem โ it's basically every share house of uni coursemates or fresh grads splitting their first apartment.
